Inside a fake “10400mAh” eBay USB power bank.

The most annoying thing about this power bank is that the physical structure of it is great. It supports the four 18650 cells well and has a nice PCB mounting system. The battery wires have good clearance and it’s altogether quite rugged. Shame about the capacity and the way the listing assured it was a “Guaranteed 10600mAh capacity”. The whole unit is probably capable of being a much better power bank when built with decent components, but in this form it’s clearly been made to look the part and cater to the fake specification market. On a plus note the cells do at least appear to be real 1000mAh ones and not a mixture of real cells and weighted cases.

Is it not normal to be not allowed to drain more than 2A current?

Its vry unsafe it even explode’s!

ExploringFate says:

Same thing happened here 20,000 mAh 44Wh suppose to get atleast 3 full charges and only get 1 1/2 charge off it but mines was from China so I wasn’t surprised. And for the cheap price you get what you pay for.

KimmyR3 says:

It is a 10600 mAh power bank, but with a low discharge rate. Sounds like you’re confusing yourself between its capacity and discharge rates: 10600mAh vs ~1A?

Cekpi7 says:

My brother bought slim version, same “10400mAh” rating but board on it died after few days, can’t charge it.
So i took it, dissasembled it and measured capacity, it only has 2000mAh which is not bad since cell is same size as phone battery (my phone has simmilar size 2600mAh). Guess im gonna order new case and board for it and use it since they are cheap.

Mohamed Samir says:

Could you recommend a good power bank with fast charge enough to charge my Samsung A7 2017. Thanks

Tom Beals says:

Lol I bought a 5,000 mah charger from walmart. Works great. Only problem is that once it hits 50% it’ll charge for about 2 more minutes and then it’s dead. Charges at 2a though, so it’ll charge my j7 sky pro from 50% to full in probably an hour and only uses about 25% of the power bank. I don’t mind for $8

The Overling says:

That’s it, hold the picture upside down.

thedougman2008 says:

and this is why i did a ton of research on my 20000mAH charger. it takes forever to charge, but keeps my laptop charged while running things like skyrim for up to 12 hours, longer if i am just browsing the web.

Thanks for uploading stuff like this, i was looking at them the other day and expecting they wouldn’t be great but just buy more of them and use wisely cause they’re cheap, but i think i’ll spend the extra $10 for a slightly decent one locally, lol

Mr Clive ,It isn’t to be seen input & Output mentioned, where we can connect either way interchanged between two types of USB ports and it contains fragile USB power cord.what is your opinion about it?

34486 says:

I have one that is very similar and I CANNOT get it apart, it has 3 usb ports, 10400 mAh, made by POM GEAR. I can’t even find any videos on it, but this is as close as it gets and I am unable to take it apart, It doesnt come on, I push the button and hold it and all that, when i go to charge it lights flash on for a split second and off, if I leave it plugged in it gets really really hot. No clue here. Probably sand filled.

there is all of them fake from idiotic china

Charlie Chuckleberry says:

The only people buying this device are morons. The advertisement of 10,000 MiliAmps instead of 10 Amps is a huge red flag. Anyway, at my online store you can buy ONE BILLION times ten to the power of (-99) POUNDS OF GOLD from me for the price of a measly $9.99. What a deal, the gold alone would be worth a fortune, start your family legacy, don’t wait, get it now! http://www.ilikeblackdicinmyanulbut.com

I bought a fake 20,000 mAh portable charger on ebay for $13. I fully charged it and it only charged my Galaxy S8+ 1.5 times. In the garbage it went.

CK Lai says:

Do Not, I repeat, Do Not plug it to your hp or PC. They now have a hacking power bank to hack your hp or PC, by loading a trojan virus from the power bank to your device and transmit your passwords & data to the hacker. Bewarn…

Erlkönig says:

You’re a bit off with your info on 18650s. Low discharge rate cells (e.g. for flashlights) easily reach 5000 mAh nowadays. It’s the high discharge rate capable of 30-40 A (e.g. for Vape mods) which don’t exceed 3000 mAh and are about 5 times more expensive. Thus the price is more dictated by discharge rate (current) than capacity.
Otherwise, great video as always!

Freddy Lasthope says:

Ive got one of them. Charges phone twice and was hardly any money. Not going to get hung up on actual mAhs.

I bought the exact same “module” from Ebay for ~2$. It comes with the aluminum case and circuitry but no li-po batteries. I am using some cells from a laptop battery and it works so far, hope it will not blow up.

I bought a USB 3 cable off Ebay. After writing a big file to my HDD using a USB 2 port and a USB 3 port with my new Ebay cable ,i noticed there was no speed difference. I looked on the internet and found out that a USB 3 has more power lines in the connector. This one didn’t . It was 10x slower than USB 3

Tripp Tastic says:

Dude still the price is good for what you actually get

i have a 12 000mAh powerbank that i bought at the store for 50$.

This product is for charging phones so the current is maxim 2A.the capacity of bateries is 10000 mA.if you want to suck 10000 mA doit directly from bateries not from charger.simple.
